When it comes to storage, all YPT keyboards come with an internal memory that stores the various built-in songs as well as the user defined patches and songs. The size of this internal memory will vary somewhat depending on the model number but around 1.8 MB of internal memory is what you can expect to get with most yamaha YPT keyboards. But mind you, once you connect the keyboards to a computer, then you can actually do all your recording on the computer and are really not limited by the size of the internal memory of your keyboard.
In terms of external connectivity, in addition to the output for headphones/amps and the MIDI slot, you also have the option to connect an external sustain pedal to your keyboards. This is an option that most piano players will love to have so that they can sustain certain notes and phrases while playing piano pieces. While some keyboards may give you a bundles sustain pedal along with your purchase, its best to get an external sustain pedal unless you are a beginner and just starting out. Seasoned players will not enjoy the bundled one that comes along, so you may get an external sustain pedal preferably from M-audio.
That covers all the connectivity options, actually there's one more - the DC input but then that is the power input which is needed on all electronic keyboards. A point to remember here is that when you buy a music keyboard ensure that you get a bundled power adapter along with it so that you really don't have to figure out what wattage power adapter you need to purchase. So as you see, there are many options to use external gear along with your keyboard which enhances your experience as an end-user. So explore the range of yamaha ypt keyboards and get hold of one today.
