piano keyboard accessories
How to use my piano on my computer?
Is there any way for me to plug my keyboard piano into my computer (even if it requires buying accessories or plugs etc.) ?
OR
Does anyone know of a computer program where I can type in what chords/piano notes I want and it puts them down for me? I can do it by hand so this is just a question.
All you need is a cable with suitable plugs.
If the piano is stereo the computer end needs to be a 3.5 mm stereo plug. Same type as headphones plug.
If the keyboard has stereo line out socket/s it could L&R RCA's or a 6.5mm stereo socket or even a 3.5mm stereo socket.
If it doesn't have dedicated line out it should have a headphone out.
A local electronics store should stock whichever combination you need.
RCA: The type used for VCR's
3.5 mm: The small size used for headphones on a computer.
6.5 mm: The larger size used for guitar cables.
If you don't have a recording program Audacity is a free audio recording and editing app.
I've used it for my el cheapo keyboard and once the input settings are adjusted the result is very good.
