How to Get Midi From Pc to keyboard?
I just got a YAMAHA YPT-400 and I cannot figure out how to get the musicsoft program to send midis to my keyboard. It is supposed to but says that the the instrument cannot be communicated with.....however When I play a midi from my media player to my piano.......it works, it just will not send to the keyboard....Do I have the settings wrong somewhere? please help!
I'm sorry I am new to this, and do not know what the interface would be......I'm assuming it's my keybord, and the program I am trying to use is Yamaha Musicsoft.
Alright.....I looked it up, and I guess that's what I have on my computer....the programs it is trying to use is microsoft midi mapper, and microsoft gs wavetable sw synth.
Just so I get this right....the output should be the pc and input should be keyboard?
This all depends on the hardware you are using as a MIDI interface. There may be an issue with what MIDI channel you are using. You may be able to change it on the keyboard, or you might need to go into the program you are playing MIDI files with in order to change the send channel. Without any more information, I'm afraid I can't be any more helpful. MIDI is pretty straight-forward, though. Just make sure that the channels match and the cables are plugged into the right.
