How do i record from my Alesis Micron to my computer with a midi to usb cable?
i just bought a midi to usb cable and i'm running it through acid pro 6. The problem is that when i try and play stuff, it comes out on the computer sounding like a regular old midi keyboard. What i'm trying to do is record all the setups and rhythms i've made on my alesis though. Any advice is greatly appreciated
I think that you should record the audio output of the Micron, not the midi instructions. The midi instructions will only play the same sound if you have all the patches, sequences, etc inside your computer which you don't.
Look for the stereo audio output on the Micron and plug it to the stereo input of your computer's sound card, that should do the job.
