This was the era When MUSIC was MUSIC. This is a stellar Live performance by John Miles in 1985 – playing his epic track “Music” (Hit of the year 1976). I still play it on my radio show as a jingle! Matloub Husayn Ali Khan.

see him back on the huge screen singing his “Music”. Here I had been talking to John Miles and I hadn’t even recognized him ! I was embarrassed and utterly excited at the same time ! Needless to say that his performance of “Music” that night was even better than I had ever heard it before and I have ever heard it since. Thank you, John, for your lovely song and for being such a nice person.
FUNNY ANECDOTE : This is one of my all time favourites. Today as much as it was in 1985 ! I LOVED “Music” but little did I know at the time what John Miles looked like. At The Night of the Proms in Antwerp, though, as a student I was making some money working behind one of the bars. During the concert, I was serving drinks to this really nice English couple. “Have you come to Antwerp just for the Night of the Proms ?” At one point, the husband leaves for a little while, only for me to …
