casio keyboard with headset microphone
how can I use an external 3.5 mm jack mic on my Casio Ctk-2000 keyboard?

well I just bought a microphone that has a 3.5mm plug that fits in my audio input slot on my piano but for some reason it's speakers don't work for the mic, I don't get it my casio's speakers work when plugging in a CD player or ipod to play to but now I have a mic and I want to singalong to this but even though it's plug fills the slot and is a microphone my keyboard doesnt play it.

I want an answer with evidence please no, "buy a new one" or "buy a 100 dollar PA system ainstead it's easier"

and if that doesnt have a solution I would like to know how to use it on my HP mini notebook instead. it only has a headset (like mic and headphones combines I mean) slot but I believe there could be some sort of way to isolate the mic so that the speakers on the Notebook play and the external mic could record, please tell me if this is possible

What model is your HP mini notebook? Most netbooks and laptops have separate mic and headphone jacks which allows you to plug in just a mic alone or a headphone only. You cannot plug in the microphone on the audio in of your casio keyboard as microphone signal is very small and requires a preamplifier to increase the signal and the audio in slot doesn't have this. Microphones should be plugged in to mic in which unfortunately, your casio keyboard doesn't have. Your best option is to swap it with a usb microphone which you can use on both your keyboard and notebook.
