Is there really THAT BIG a difference between the entry level YAMAHA and CASIO keyboards?
My son is wanting to learn to play the keyboard, I've been told the YAMAHA is "the bomb" but what about CASIO?
I am not looking brand new, as far as the yamaha I'm looking at the PSR 2**-3**, but what does casio have that is equivalent?
Like I said I am just looking for the best of the cheapest or the cheapest of the best ie; ebay, craigslist, yard sale whatever.
Any advice is appreciated.
For pure entry level, the two are about the same, but Yamaha does tend to be built better (and sound better). The Casio equivalent of a PSR is the CTK series. Whichever you choose, don't fall into the trap of getting one of those keyboards with the keys that light up in time to the song. These are more expensive, and are a waste of money. Every music teacher I've ever spoken with says that they don't help learning, and I tend to agree.
