Casio, however, thinks everyone should experience the thrill of playing piano, which is why it developed the LK-92TV lighted keyboard. A good beginner keyboard piano?
I have never taken any piano lessons and would like to purchase my first keyboard to learn. I will not fully depend on it as I will eventually take lessons in the future.
I have narrowed my choices to two keyboards that I think are good and inexpensive.
Casio LK-270

- allows the user to slow down the tempo of the keys while learning how to play
Yamaha EZ-200
http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-EZ200-Full-Sized-Sensitive-Lighted/dp/B001FSJC5A
-Better sound quality
-Cheaper than the LK-270
-Teaches between right and left hand parts one at a time.
Both have lit up keys which is the main reason I'm choosing between the two. Which one should I get?
The Yamaha looks much more durable and I agree with Wayne T - it should last longer.
Yamaha is also a better make than Casio, as they cater for the higher market - with grand and upright piano's. All I know of Casio are cheap watches and keyboards (I could be wrong though).
You are also getting a stand and muffin earphones, so you can play when your family is watching tv right next too you without disturbing them. Having a stand makes such a difference because you can place it wherever you want in the house and not just where an open table space is available or on the bed.
I also think the Yamaha looks nicer.
I would go with the Yamaha.
ps. I believe the Yamaha is the better keyboard, but the Casio costs more because of the usb and mp3 connection. I think the usb connection means you can plug it into your computer, and the mp3 means you can connect your mp3 player too it and play your music with it. You probably already knew this.
