Casio GSDX Deluxe Keyboard Stand

I thought I’d be luckier than most of the previous reviewers, but no; when my Deluxe Keyboard Stand was delivered, it was missing eight screws and eight grippers, thus making it impossible to assemble. I had to repack it and return it to Amazon. What a waste of time. I also noticed that it is designed so that, when seated, your knees hit the stand legs, making it almost impossible to use (should you ever get all the parts).

I have since bought a very strong, properly-designed stand by Kaman in a local store (already assembled). I suggest Amazon stop selling this Casio stand, as all the necessary parts often are not included.

Our box also arrived taped up, with no external protective packaging. One of the 8 screws was missing, and the special screwdriver was missing too. The Casio customer service number referred me to a Parts Replacement number. The Parts Replacement number referred me to a local parts distributor. The local parts distributor number has a constant busy signal (we’ve dialed it for days). The next closest parts distributor (1000 miles away) said they don’t support Casio products anymore (but Casio had given me their phone number). The screws are an odd metric measurement that our local hardware store doesn’t carry.

This has been one big hassle. It looks like it might be a decent stand once we have the pieces to put it all together, but I recommend that you buy it in a STORE instead of on-line, and check that all the parts are there before you leave.

The first one of these stands came without screws! The second came without a leg! After that, Amazon told me they wouldn’t send me another and they were discontinuing it because of problems with the boxes coming open in the mail and screws being missing. Yet months later it is still available here. If you did order it, look for the screws in the screw holes. That confused me at first, they put the screws in the holes so you have to unscrew them first instead of in a seperate bag. That doesn’t mean they wont be missing half the time though. Don’t buy this stand!!

This was a Great deal. Easy to install and works Great! It is very sturdy and perfect for our Casio keyboard.

***The screws are already in place in the stand, when it arrives. You have to unscrew them, then connect it together…It is NOT HARD to figure out! All of these people who complain about the screws not being there…YES THEY ARE…LOOK FOR THEM!!

I got (2) of these stands with a couple of Yamaha CP-33 pianos; basically, as free add-ons. I have a couple of Professional welded dual-X stands already, so I believe that I’m in a position to make a fair comparison.

Assembly was not really a problem. It took me about 30-40 minutes or so to put both of them together; and I work SLOW. I agree with others that the included written instructions are a little bit confusing/not much help, but if you lay the parts out ahead of time, mentally think the process through/study the instruction’s pictures, you’ll probably be just fine. They logically go together, but my advice: TAKE YOUR TIME. Think the process through.

I should also tell you that the second stand definitely went together faster and easier then the first.

Once together, I used (1) to support a Yamaha CP-33 (about 40 pounds; 88-keys) in a stand-up Church performance situation. No real complaints; although overall, it’s not as stable as either of my other dual-X’s. A little bit of rocking, true; but nothing unmanageable. My guess is that for home use, sitting down (with it’s center of gravity lowered, and it’s “feet” further apart), it should work well; although you might hit the stand’s legs with your knees! Try sitting in front of one assembled before you buy it, if at all possible.

Well, that’s about it! Not much to the stand, really. But I would say that for the money, you’ll probably not be able to do much better. That’s why I’ll give it a *5*.

It’s fine….
