Help with buying set of drums for beginner?
any advice on buying set of drums for my 13 year old, not junior set, 5 piece for beginner, once I know she wont quit will spend more, I found Rockwood at zzounds for $300/ Thunder at local music store for $340/ Pulse pro at music 123 for $320 or I might try the local pawn shop(used?) or what brand should I get
In all honesty, if you are willing to deal with the noise in the first place, it would be worth it to spend a little more. $500 will get you significantly higher quality (most likely, after all a good deal is a good deal). Any of the more prominent manufactureres, Pearl, Yamaha, Tama, even DW produce beginner marketed kits that deliver a lot of value, and there is a level of reliability there too. I would avoid trying pawn shops unless you really do some research first. good luck!
